Graceland Vortex

This is regarding the end of the book Everwild by Neal Shusterman, 2nd of the Skinjacker Trilogy.

—POSSIBLE SPOILERS—

When Mary came to meet Nick in Graceland, she found that he had become what she had named him. Truly a Chocolate Ogre. He became what he was trying to forget. He must have tried to forget about the chocolate on his shirt, but the more he thought of it, the more he became it. Part of the reason why Mary decided to tell her followers to call him the Chocolate Ogre was so he could not forget the fact he was covered in chocolate.

But just as Nick became a puddle of fudge, when Mary came near the vortex, she in fact became what Nick called her. A witch. She was becoming a witch the whole time, with her ordering the skinjackers to kill human children to “free them from the horrible world of the living” and to get rid of Pugsy, yet when she entered the vortex and began to get crammed into the living world, the “sheer force of ther will” was not amplified, but more her wickedness.

The book is very good at showing both the transitions of Nick becoming the Chocolate Ogre and Mary becoming the Sky Witch, whether it was at a gradual or accelerated pace.

  • Ex:

You look like a total babe with eyeliner on

  • Me:

Oh thank you, but it was a one time thing.

  • Ex:

Still, it makes me want to ask you out again right then and there

  • Me:

Too bad, because I don't like eyeliner

  • Ex:

    It's sooooo hot

  • Me:

If you were to ask me out again, it should be for me, not my appearance or any makeup I put on.

  • Girls, if someone likes you, make sure it's for you, not for your appearance, because then they just want things from you. Also, don't give in and try to be what someone else wants you to be or look like.

“LMS for a Rate!”

So people WANT to be given a number? How can you simply assign someone a number? In life you should be judged by your personality first, then appearance later. When you ask for someone to give you a rate, what is this “rate” referring to? Your personality or appearance? Most likely it’s your appearance. The number is just comparing yourself to other people, which can turn into jealousy and wanting to be someone else. That can also lead to depression, being irratible, or just mainly focusing on your appearance which is not half of what makes up you. In my opinion, everyone is a 10, unless you are truly a mean human being.
For anyone that read that whole thing, first I applaud you. Second, I just want to warn you that you people should not compare yourself to anyone else with “rates” or numbers, instead, just know you are a 10 in your own eyes.

So, a few days ago…

a guy was flirting with me. He had the nerve to just out of the blue put his arm around me. He then continued to tell me he loved me in German. (It’s “Ich liebe dich”, if anyone was wondering…) I pretended to be interested for a while, then I got annoyed and *whack* elbowed him in the ribs. He better not be coming back ;D

I would sing this to him if I could sing very well
